The Peri Posse
"I'm not crazy; It's Perimenopause."
About PP
The Peri Posse started with a simple mission: to make one less person feel alone.

Since our first thread, we've quickly grown into an active community of 4,000 and counting!

Our goal is to help you connect the dots between Peri and your life.
And find a supportive community to do it with.

In the Posse, you will find insight, anecdotes, and knowledge sharing.
It's also humbling the amount of support this community brings.

Wherever you are in your peri journey, you are welcome in the Posse.

HRT or no HRT. Single or partnered. Parent or child-free.
We’re all in this together.
And we all deserve better.

So join us! Let's do this together!
What we believe
There is no right way or wrong way to navigate perimenopause.
But there are best practices and recommendations.

What matters is YOU. YOU know your body better than anyone.
Only you know what's right (and wrong) for you.*
Through that lens, this is a supportive, inclusive community.
We do not shame or judge others for their health choices.

We envision a future where no person should enter perimenopause caught unaware and uninformed.

*This includes finding medical professionals who are informed and educated on Menopause - specifically.
I am not a doctor.
I repeat, I am not a doctor.
I cannot - nor do I - offer any medical advice.

Everything is done through the lens of self-education and personal experience. And some humor.
How we work
So how does this Peri Posse website/community work?
SOCIAL:

We also have a small, but growing Facebook Group. The nice part about the Facebook group is it's private - so your comments and posts can’t be seen publicly.!

After getting positive feedback from the posse, I am launching a newsletter! This has always been a dream of mine. I am excited to do something that adds MORE value to your life.
-
It’s a chance to go deeper on topics, share resources and links (such as studies).

Sign-up on the home page.

COMING SOON: SWAG:
-
Our health is a serious topic. As we get older, we truly realize it comes before everything.
-
But we are also smart women who know how to laugh at ourselves and at life. Because come on - we’ve seen a lot.
-
So I created some fun swag for two purposes: something we can laugh at while raising awareness. Something you can look at and know you’re not alone.
Future Thoughts (open for feedback!)
-
In the back of my mind: A podcast. I would interview experts in the field of perimenopause and women's health
-
I have yet to find a podcast dedicated to this topic.

What do you think?
My Story
I entered peri at 39.

I didn't get the diagnosis until I was 42. It was also the first time I heard the word: perimenopause.
Even then I didn't hear it from a traditional doctor!

It was from my functional medicine/acupuncturist who specializes in women's reproductive health. She's the one who connected the dots.

I was suffering from too frequent periods, insane PMS, cystic acne, scary mood swings, Brain Fog, TMJ, and so much more.

Prior to her diagnosis, I had seen 4 doctors.
When I pressed one OBGYN for information about menopause, her response was "I'll tell you when I go through it".

She was 10 years younger than me!

Once I finally got the help I needed, I realized I was in fact NOT alone. Childhood friends were also suffering in silence!

How could this be? How can so many of us lack the knowledge, resources, and support of something so life-changing and common?!

That's when I made it my mission to help others feel less alone. And less crazy.
In fact, this has become my personal motto: "I'm not crazy, It's Perimenopause".

Because, for a long time, I really did think I was going crazy.

Like anything in life, some days are fine.
And some Peri days are really hard.
That's why we need to keep getting the word out.
And we're only just getting started!

But this isn't about me. This is about all of us.
